Philéole’s Grand Return to the International Multihull Boat Show at La Grand Motte, France!
Our team was as full of energy as our turbine for this year’s Boat Show at La Grand Motte. Spring gales blew beautifully on both sunny and rainy days. New and old connections merged to create a truly unique second experience at La Grand Motte.
Spectacular view of the sea of masts with flags in all colours surrounded Philéole’s team as we placed the wind turbines on poles to be viewed from all angles. Our aesthetically pleasing electricity producer charged our batteries beautifully as the wind gave generously. Philéole’s booth was well placed. Interested people of all ages visited to ask questions, both technical and operational, and were provided with visual representations of all kinds. A favourite with the crowd was lifting the 10kg mini-wind turbine after feeling our new generator rotate.
The shipyards were examining our mini-wind turbine with support from the crowds. The exact placement of the wind-turbine on the masts were discussed and solutions were reached easily. The shipyards provided us with the average amount of electricity needed for their sailboats and Philéole provided the technical information necessary. We look forward to starting the pilot projects!
This years’ Multihull Boat Show exceeded our expectations. We are grateful to the organisers, our collaborators, and the fantastic, curious crowds. We look forward to next years’ show! In the meantime, we look forward to seeing our mini-wind turbine on sailboats around the world.
